Camille the rookie and her current sport program

If you are serious about competing, you have to be aware of the amount of fitness required. Holding on to 3 minutes of 3 intense rounds is a hell of an effort.

The minimum requirement for a competing boxer is to go to the boxing gym 3 times a week and to run 3 times a week as well.

Camille started boxing almost 9 months ago – in September 2016. She started from almost no sport to being active 6 times a week -when she can obviously. She is just starting to run (article coming soon) and is aiming to improve her cardio.

Currently she follows this program:

      • Monday: Boxing at the Eastbourne Boxing Club (1h30)
      • Tuesday: Boxing fitness with EBC Women at the Eastbourne Boxing Club (1h00)
      • Wednesday: Running (program to run 5k in June)
      • Thursday: Boxing at the Eastbourne Boxing Club (1h30)
      • Friday: Running (program to run 5k in June)
      • Saturday: DAY OFF
      • Sunday: Exercise bicycle (45 mins with 1 min sprint every 5 mins)

One step at a time: considering that she never used to exercise, it’s pretty intense!

INSTAGRAM hitlikegirlsCoach Adrianne was helping Camille to defend more positively. You can see here that Camille was leaning backwards with her slips, with a kind of slip/swayback hybrid. A few pointers later, using the roll to encourage that forward motion, and you can see a much more comfortable and positive trunk defence! / #hitlikegirls is the journey of a coach and her rookie in the amateur boxing world.
